2025 Summer PL: Honors Course Development

What does rigor look like in HCSD Honors courses? We define Rigor as engaging students in meaningful learning experiences that challenge them to grow, to make connections, to think deeply, and to realize their amazing potential. To differentiate between an excellent on-level course and an honors/advanced course, teachers will look at the curriculum/standards of the course and the Differentiation Step-by-Step tool, Newman's Authentic Intellectual Work, enrichment, acceleration, and high levels of critical thinking to develop lesson plans and units that truly challenge students to high achievement.
