$300.00 Stipend
For 6-12 Teachers
If we want to make Literacy a priority we need to be prompting the love and need for literacy in ALL students.   In order to move students from Developing to Proficient and bring up the bottom 25% WITH OUT teaching to the test we need to prompt authentic close reading techniques, start answering the WHY we read and write instead of HOW.  Kylene Beers says we need to "Help students to become the reader who does so much more than decide, recall, or choose the correct answer from a multiple-choice list"
