Note: As a prerequisite for enrollment in this course, participants must have already experienced the original “Creative Structures for Student Engagement” course:

Keeping climbing higher with student engagement and learning by jumping into ALL NEW interactive learning structures that inspire creativity, demand collaboration, and promote risk-taking. Just like the original course, you will have your classes rocking with “The Relay and the Ref,” “The Perimeter, the Players, and the Offering,” “The Square,” “The Revolutionary Battle,” “The Hook,” “The Revolver,” and other structures to-be-named later. Just like the original course, participants of this active, non-sit-and-get course should bring their laptops…and their well-rested nerves.

John Hardison (former ELA teacher, interactive facilitator of learning, and instructional coach at East Hall High School) and Kasey Nored (Math/ESOL/SWD certified and pre-service educator at UNG) will engage teachers in learning designs that increase student learning and engagement in face-to-face settings and in distance learning environments. Several applicable educational technology tools for synchronous and asynchronous learning will also be discussed.
